Frozen rollercoasters tangled in the sky If I ignore them then I'll be alright Parts I can't remember Parts I can't explain But in my head it says Let's just pretend That everything in this series of events Started again Could we just pick up our parts And keep going? Let's just pretend That something I did or said Could make us feel happy again Could we just forget this blip And start over? Frozen rollercoasters tangled in the sky If I ignore them then I'll be alright

If you’d seen the edges of the land And stared across the blankness You’d have seen it Back towards the monster As it fell You could’ve been so proud of me What? Nothing OK If you’d seen it I stayed out of the searchlights Snuck around The way that we would sneak between our gardens But now I look for footprints of our friends And watch the way the light bends And the heat sinks Well if you’d seen it Meredith bites the Earth If you’d seen the edges of the land And pulled the curtain back now You’d have seen it Me inside its ribcage Mad as trains I took its heart between my teeth and bit down hard If you’d seen the edges of the land And stared across the blankness You’d have seen it Back towards the monster As it fell Into the devil’s basin or something OK What? If you’d seen it Meredith bites the Earth

about

THESE TRACKS COME FREE WITH AN ALBUM PRE-ORDER:

A twinkling glockenspiel and omnichord melody fragments into pieces before the pop hooks and driving rhythm section whisk the listener through blasting verses and an off kilter chorus. This track sits second from last on the upcoming debut album from Merry Christmas, The Night The Night Fell, and almost completes the unconscious journey of a girl who has tragically fallen into a coma. This track exemplifies the band's love of pop hooks, nostalgia and musical experimentation.
